Michael Bach is the fund manager of the hedge fund Scirage Capital. In early 2007, Michael began to test various theoretical securities trading strategies that he had developed. After two years, the result was a successful analysis system for stock trading strategies that generated exponential returns. This ingenious mathematical process is what compelled Michael to establish the hedge fund that is known today as Scirage Capital. Michael’s ability to develop complex mathematical models and analytic acumen was originated when he attended North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina, majoring in both Mechanical and Architectural Engineering.
Prior to establishing Scirage, Michael spent 17 years as the Chief Executive Officer of the private equity firm Bach Equity Partners whose primary business model was facilitating takeovers of middle-market companies. During his tenure at Bach Equity Partners, Michael led the charge to execute corporate takeovers in the healthcare, transportation, distribution and manufacturing industries. To his credit, Michael originated and facilitated transactions which included debt offerings totaling $192 million, equity capital assemblages totaling $31 million, as well as executing merger transactions totaling $86 million and corporate divestitures totaling $163 million. In more recent times, Drezden Equity Partners has continued its operations but only with Michael acting as the Chairman of the Board.
With his many business successes, Michael Bach Atlanta has become a very active philanthropist. He founded the Michael Bach Family Foundation, a charitable organization that supports youth sports and projects related to education as well as providing educational scholarships. Despite Michael’s daily management duties at Scirage, he continues to be the chairman of the board at Drezden Equity Partners, and currently sits on the board of 3 other US based companies.
In 2011, the Michael Bach Atlanta Foundation was created on the heels of a benevolent fund established at Scirage Capital. Michael made the decision to establish a foundation that caters to youth education and sports. The foundations’ annual giving are allocated to provide 60% to educational efforts and 40% to youth sports. At the age of 26, Michael began coaching little league basketball and football in Atlanta, despite not having any children of his own at the time. He coached both sports in lower income communities for a combined 17 years, and it was during that time of his life that he came to realize, how the slightest influence of help could change the life of an individual. Today the Michael Bach Foundation provides annual giving to metro Atlanta area youth sports organizations. During fiscal 2015, the foundation will expand its geographical scope of annual youth sports giving to the entire state of Georgia.
This foundation by Michael Bach Atlanta is surely a step to make millions of dreams come true of people who cannot afford it . Michael says that, “This foundation is really close to my heart and I can’t imagine my life without seeing the prosperous faces of these young children who have made my life happier”, this foundation is a step forward towards humanity and the great thing is even when Michael himself had to face so many difficulties to reach his goals. He believes that no one must go through what I have been through , Michael Bach Atlanta , a lover of humanity says, “We have to allow ourselves to be loved by the people who really love us, the people who really matter. Too much of the time, we are blinded by our own pursuits of people to love us, people that don’t even matter, while all that time we waste and the people who do love us have to stand on the sidewalk and watch us beg in the streets! It’s time to put an end to this. It’s time for us to let ourselves be loved.”
Youth basketball, football and golf are the three primary sports supported by the foundation. Because of the shear cost of equipment, on an annual basis, 75% of the allocated capital for youth sports is given to football and golf programs throughout metro Atlanta. With the game of golf being one of Michael’s fascinations, he recently made the decision to include youth golf as a supported sport. The intent was to promote greater awareness with the sport and to encourage youth interest and development in golf. The foundation annually supports youth golf camps throughout the southeast. The foundation provides annual giving to underprivileged students, which allow them to attend private and college preparatory grade schools. The foundation annually targets 100 students through its 100 Kids of Color education program. The program annually provides private school tuition scholarships to 100 students in grades 6 through 12
Michael Bach Atlanta with his foundation made it very clear that no matter how rich you might get but if are not working for uplifting of others then surely you are missing something. The promotion of college education is a significant part of the purpose of the Michael Bach Foundation. The foundation provides annual giving’s to as many as 25 college level students, which attend Historically Black College or Universities (HBCU’s). The program annually provides scholarship assistance to students majoring in various disciplines of business, engineering and medicine.
